Because of this and other reasons such as it takes skill and practice to do it right, however you can repaint your car but i would recommend practicing on another piece of metal until you feel confident that you can get an even coat you will need to sand the area you wish to paint down to bear metal then spray on a coat of primer then your color of paint then lightly sand out in perfections with over 200 grit wet sand paper there is sand paper designed for this then when you have the coat the way you want it you will then apply a gloss coat or clear coat
