All Z28 from 93 to 97 have the LT1 5.7L. No reason to remove radiator. Drain coolant and discard properly. Remove air intake elbow. Remove coil and ICM assembly. Remove 6 14mm bolts securing water pump to engine. Clean mating surfaces of all old gasket material. Use silicone on both sides of gaskets and place on engine alignment pins. Install bolts, the two short ones go at 3 and 9 o'clock. The four long ones are interchangeable. Ensure use of high temp thread sealer on all bolts. Fill coolant system with 50/50 mix of coolant and clean water. Make sure to bleed system to purge all air. All the while you're doing this, make SURE not to wet your OPTISPARK (Distibutor on front on engine below water pump).
Front of engine. Fairly easy to work on. Make sure it is replaced with reverse flow water pump.
How can do I replace a water pump on a 96 camaro z28
On the front of the engine
take it to a mechanic.
Answerwell if it is in a 95 you have to take off the coil pack then the power steering pump then take of the bolts on the water pump
oil pump is defective and not working.
Hose blockage, core blockage, disconnected heat valve.
You have to pull the serp. belt, coil packs, power steering pump pulley, power steering pump mounting bracket, and then you can get the water pump out.
it's not easy, you gotta cut the exhaust and drop the whole tank
Where is fuel pump reset switch on a 1986 camaro?
First you will need to know what size the engine is. 3.3L or 3.5l? The 3.3L is an external water pump and easy to replace. The other is not so easy as an internal water pump.
A 97 Camaro came with an LT1 not LS1. Its fuel pump relay would be behind the kick panel on the driver side below the dash.
You remove your Water pump after that you'll figer it out
fuel pump if mechanical
The water pump is located in the middle of the front of the engine. The water pump is fairly easy to reach and replace.
No water pump is easy to change. You know it is bad if it is leaking, noisy, or if there is no flow of water when looking into the radiator with the engine running. Replace the thermostat at the same time as the pump if it is bad.
Thermostat, water pump, radiator cap, headgasket, low coolant.
On the side of the water pump housing
yes. permatex water pump silacone around the inlet and outlet for the pump.
Take off old water pump and put on new very easy.
No, they're not the same fuel pump. The V8 requires more fuel pressure than the V6. Besides you would not want to install a used fuel pump. Way too much trouble to trust to a used part.
the pump is located in the fuel tank
the water pump seal is worn out you need a new water pump
the library should have a shop manual for this vehicle, you can make copies of the right sections :)
It is bolted to the front of the engine right behind the water pump.
