Most people are out working and putting up with the general public or, students are at school or college and studying. This is enough to make anyone tired and the brain becomes over loaded and needs a rest. Some people may watch TV to relax and many may look at TV, but aren't particularly listening. It's simply a chance to escape from our outdoor environment.

Exactly. Television makes people concentrate on the screen (Unless of course, the show your watching is boring =]) and makes it harder to communicate with each other. You know how it goes, a really good part is on and someone tries to talk to you, you say SHHHHHHH! THIS IS A GOOD PART! which is a bad thing. Try to not watch television as much or go to a movie theater with your family so then afterwords you can talk about it. =] hope this helps
