It's best to wait until the ibuprofen clears your system in 6-8 hours (especially if you are using prescription level Ibuprofen). Ibuprofen can be a irritant to the GI tract, and can sometimes cause bleeding, and alcohol only increases this risk. Ibuprofen also inhibits the liver's functions as well, so you would only be compounding that effect by adding alcohol.

I don't know but I myself am seeking the answer to this. I took two ibuprofen and about one hour later had one glass of wine. The next day I felt like I had the worse hangover ever - it lasted the entired day. I'm going to continue looking for the answer. However, I will err on the side of caution and not combine the two any longer.

Yes. ibuprofen and aspirin irritate the stomach lining as alcohol does. using to much of either, especially on an empty stomach, can eventually lead to ulcers. combining the two just increases your chances two fold of getting an ulcer.
