Highlights do not cause any unhealthy damage to your hair, or anything unhealthy to it at all, nor is it healthy. It's not "healthy" because "healthy" means that its improving condition, but highlights do not degrade, nor improve the condition of hair. It just colors it and does nothing else to it.
