I think both are equally important, because one can lead to the other. You may feel someone loves you, but you are not sure; so, you wait a while and see how that person treats you, whether that person says loving things to you, how well the two of you communicate, and whether you can trust that person. Gradually, what you feel turns into something you know, something you are sure of.
It should also be noted that emotions come and go, and they are not always reliable because they are affected by a number of factors-- insecure people or those with low self-esteem, for example, may never feel loved (even if they really are loved) because they believe they don't deserve it. But in general, a person who looks at all the facts in a relationship will usually come to a sensible conclusion. So, if you feel someone loves you, and there is evidence to support that feeling, eventually you will know whether it's true or not.

Sure, but it's important to remember that love depends on both people involved. Love is something you do, not just something you feel. If you do things that make the other person in your relationship feel loved, you are more likely to be/feel loved in return.
