It's a result of the ethylene gasses which a natural released by the fruit aging them. The reason that apples turn red dates back in time. A red or brightly colored fruit is fully matured. An animal will see the bright fruit first and eat them. This helps sped the plants seeds.

∙ 11y agoit doesnt mean anything, certain types of apples have red flesh on the inside of the apple such as the 'firecracker', or 'glowing heart'. basically its just the type of apple, so nothings wrong with it at all.

It is everything but red. When white light (comprise of every colors) hits the surface of the ''red'' apple, every colors are being absorb but the wave length our brain interprets as being red. This wave length is reflected back to our eyes. You project a light that doesn't have red in its spectrum, upon the ''red'' apple, it will appear black because this particular (red) wave length isn't reflected back. The ''red'' apple isn't inherently red.
