Now this is just a guess but it might be pregnant. A female beta fish will do anything to hide from a male. Sme tomes fish will rub against rough things if they are itchy and they need medicine or some type of helpful fungus remover.
Bettas do not get pregnant they are egg layers the above is total rubbish.
AnswerI recently got our first betta and was very puzzled by this burrowing behavior! I called the pet store and was told that this was quite common. I was told that this is a sort of 'getting comfortable' type of thing for bettas to do -- as in, some rocks are just not as comfortable to lie on top of as other rocks or even the smooth floor of the bowl!
The pet store are lying to you. Bettas do not burrow and they certainly would not be 'getting comfortable'
AnswerI recently bought a Betta from petsmart and he burrows down into the rocks at the bottom of his bowl and he is perfectly fine. He doesn't ever "itch" he just lays on the rocks or under them. I know he is perfectly content because he is always making bubble nests which is a sign of contentment.
there could be any number of reasons.... but first... the betta should not be in a tank unless he is by himself. alot of people like to place them in aqauriums along with their other fish but it is not a good iea in my opinion. they are not strong swimmers... they more or lkess just hang out. a bowl or other type container is better. fish do rest. but they should settle down and be vertical not usually on their sides. does he perk up when someone comes near him? is he eating well? thee are too many factors that could be causing this to list here and lots of other questions that need to be answered. at the pet stores .... bettas are in small cups and many are on the bottom resting, but perk up if disturbed or teased. place a small mirror up to the container so he can see his relection and watch what happens .... but do not leave it there.
Probably because it is dying. It either needs its water replaced or it needs its water conditions improved. The basic rules of fishkeeping are. 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water (regardless of what some ill-informed people say, a Betta is a 3 inch fish and so it needs at least 3 gallons of water) Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. Bettas are tropical fish and need their water to be heated to around 78F.
Betta fish are very known to rest against rocks however owing the difference between resting and if the fish is dead is vital, PLEASE DO NOT TAP THE GLASS INCASE IT IS ASLEEP IT WILL STARTLE THE FISH, you could try turning a light on or coming close to the tank because many betta fish react fast to movement or close by noises if it does not wake up then u can take this to more serious matters please try talking close by the tank if that does not work please open the tank and glide a RINSED finger in the water (donβt do this if u have soap or chemicals in your hand) if It still does not react try get a net and scoop them if by then it hasnβt moved unfortunately they have passed away you can try more techniques but it is most likely they have passed and Iβm sorry if thatβs what happened :(
yes, the betta get's scared it will try and hide. then a little while after it will come back out when it knows it's safe
either because they are scared or you put to much stuff in the tank
Your betta fish could be sick or he could just be relaxing or resting.
no i dont think so , must of them burrow in the forest !!!! hope this helped
The betta.
why would you want to kill a betta D:
In dark places like under your bed, or under a dresser, or in the corner of a closet. Generally hamsters will seek out a "burrow" to hide in.
Under rocks & leaves, undisturbed areas.
under depths of water
dark wet places liike outside under rocks, etc.
No, probably not. The males would be more likely to kill the females.
Well, if you love your Betta fish, then it should live by itself. But if you add another Betta to your current Betta fish's tank, then they will start a fight because Betta Fish are Siamese fighting fish and if one Betta is in contact of another Betta, the possible reason would be a fight between them two.
waterAn Abiotic environment would be classified under anything that is pretty much "not living" for example rocks, sunlight, air, & rocks ect.water
it would depend on how he/she was feeling if its just a usual it would sound like a high pitched neew haw!
they sometimes build an under ground hole that fits most of there family or they have a little burrow. i would know this because me and my dad go hunting a lot
