I would not expect it, but it could depend on how the car was operating before the sensor was replaced. A sulfur (rotton egg) smell is associated with running rich (improper air fuel ratio). It is possible the engine was running rich with the bad sensor becaues the normal af control system was not working.
If there is a smell from the former operation it should be completely gone after a ten mile trip, and it should not come back.
