No. This is called 'inbreeding' and can be fatal to the guinea pigs, can lead to severe pain for the mother and can cause deformed offspring. Never let guinea pigs mate with their relatives. Ever.
Baby male guinea pigs can try to mate with their mother from about four or five weeks old, maybe even earlier. This is not good because it leads to in-breeding, which means generally weaker guinea pigs and a weaker bloodline. You should separate male baby guinea pigs before they're four weeks old. They're already weaned at about three weeks, so they will be fine.
You separate them around about 21 days!!
Yes most likely so. Usually baby guinea pigs look a bit like their parents. Same coat type, same breed usually, but maybe 1 out of 5 baby piggies have the same color coat as their parents.
You should keep the baby guinea pigs with their mothers until they are around 3-5 weeks!
they should eat the normal guinea pig food and drink from the water bottle.
6-8 weeks.
yeah
It is good not to handel them to much for the first couple of hours and after that only you should handel them so they get use to the scent. Try not to freak the mum out to much as well.
I wish i could help but my baby guinea pig didn't like its mum after 3 weeks because she was sick and died. . . .
Until the mum(mom) is pregnate then they stay away until the babies are full grown
The other name for a guinea pig is cavy and their scientific name is Cavia porcellus.
well i think its ok for them to have sex because me and my older brother did and if humans can why not guinea pigs Yes... but is it a good idea to let them? I'm sure someone else will expand on this. guinea pigs can deffinantly mate with their brothers and sisters. it is a good idear to let them because when guinea pigs find their mating partner the male might kill the female of the babies but whenh they are brother and sister they have grown up together and are used to each others company!
yes, but don't be surprised if the Guinea pig rejects it too. but it might not
