No that is not true. I've dyed my hair now about 9 times and when I curl mine there wasnt a difference. But dying it does harm your hair. It makes it fall out some, not a lot at once but you do lose some. There's also a good thing about dying hair: if you have lice and you dye your hair the chemicals in the dye kill the lice. I've done that before too and it works havent had lice since then.
you just curl it however you want you dont need to have curly hair to curl your hair its actually sometimes easier to curl your hair if your hair is straight
