Yes, its easily can be replaced. Check the service manual of your Laptop for full instructions and pictures. However I can assure that most of the laptop screens are fairly easy to replace (cover strip, keyboard, bezel all come off fairly easily, then just a few more screws and swap the cable to the new screen, then put it together - this model comes apart quite nicely). We almost always order screens from internet, since the quality is perfectly fine and you can find a decent price from a seller near you. I doubt you'll spend more than $150, and you can also have the opportunity to upgrade to a higher resolution screen if you want.

Yes... I am having it done, now. If you take it to a computer store (small business) it will be cheaper than taking it to the geek squad. And, to get it still cheaper, you can purchase NEW laptop screens for your model on ebay, take it to the tech you wish to have do it, and have a working laptop. Make sure that is all that is wrong with the computer, though, before spending the money to fix the screen. My screen, new and ordered from some dealer was listed at 129.99. The charge to put it on: 65.00. I found the screens on ebay for prices ranging from 46.00 - 62.00. There was an odd man out for 102.00, but only one. My advice is to call around to the local repair shops for the charge of putting it on, and then look on ebay for the screen. They are warrantied, and listed as NEW. Have the Laptop type and series number ready. For instance: Compaq CQ60 615DX, or Compaq CQ60 215DX. This info will be found somewhere on your laptop, and on mine was on the sticker that is to the left of the mouse. Hope this was helpful. I did not call the Geek Squad. I have priced them for other jobs, and found them way more expensive than the starving businessman. To load a computer with a program (LINNUX) that is free online, they wanted 135.00. The Computer store priced loading a computer with XP at 55.00. Call around--Geek Squad, too if you think they might be cheaper to put it on. Take into consideration the age of your computer, too. If it is old, and a new one will cost only a hundred more to buy, it might be better to go new. In my case, fixing was the better deal at a little over 25% of the cost of a new one with tax.
