Tuna fish is OK for dogs - it is a good source of protein and unsaturated fatty acids that help support muscle development. However, tuna are predatory fish at the top of the food chain, so there is a risk of Mercury poisoning if you feed too much tuna fish to your dog. There is also a slight risk that your dog may have a food allergy to tuna fish - if your dog develops unexplainable skin rashes, you should ask your veterinarian about this.

∙ 7y agoIt is not advisable to add tuna to a dog's regular diet; a little once in a while is fine but make sure that the tuna is canned in water, not oil. If you can give your dog fresh home-cooked tuna, then do so occasionally.

All dogs love fish and some live almost exclusive on fish. Feeding some tuna in moderation is ok, as long as it has no adverse reactions such as diarrhea.

Try to only give him/her a tin a week thou as it might be to rich for his/her stomach, also the one with oil and Not the one in bryne as bryne contains salt.
The vet recommended this to us when we first brought our puppy because she was under waight and her coat was dull.
