Is it the Scottish or the Irish that have black hair and blue eyes?
Both groups have people with those characteristics. In Scotland
the Northwest especially.
Many people of European origin will refer to dark brown hair as
"black" but true black contains no brown highlights.

If eyes color of mother is blue and eyes color of father is black how did the child get black color?
Black eye color is a recessive trait meaning that for someone to have it both the mother and father would have to pass off the gene for Black eyes. Since the dominant gene always prevails over the recessive and one of the parents had blue eyes, this means that the parent with black eyes had both recessive genes for black eyes and therefor passed on the recessive gene. The other parent with the Blue eyes must have both genes blue and black, but since blue is considered to be dominant over black the blue, they have blue eyes, but passed on the recessive black eye gene. B - Blue Eye Gene (Dominant) b - Black Eye Gene (recessive) Mother - Bb (Blue Eyes) Father - bb (Black Eyes) Child - bb (Black Eyes)

Why do people think Irish have red hair?
Answer I am Irish and have jet black hair all my family have black hair and blue or brown eyes. This is a common misconception due to the settlers form Scandanavia that settled in Ireland in large numbers hundreds of years ago. The original Irish do - in - fact have black hair and blue eyes. Over the years the Irish and Scandanivians mixed so the gene is recessive but still occurs frequently. It is kinda annoying though because people always say i don't look Irish cuz i don't have red hair - that is a Scandanivian thing - not Irish

What does 'Black Irish'mean?
A black-haired Irish person with usually hazel or brown eyes, but also blue. This is because most Irish people have brown or red or reddish hair, and have very fair complected or freckled skins.
