To Newton, gravity was plainly observable from the world around him long before the apple tree came along, but it was Newton's explaining the apple's falling from the tree that finally related his knowledge to the common man. At that time, religious teachings reigned supreme, and most things credited God's power as their reason for being -- things like holding stars in the sky above Earth, the center of the universe.

Newton's example of the apple falling from the tree related to people in a way that they understood and could easily share with others.

well y did the apple fall on the floor? y it didn't go to the oppite way, up to the sky? so he thought abt it, he thought that there might be some force that pulls the apple (or any other object) to the ground. hope that helps :)

He wasn't walking, he was sitting under an apple tree on his own property when an apple fell in front of him. And yes, that is the popular theory of how Isaac newton came up with his theory of "Gravity" which is the one we use today.

However, it was never actually proven that this is what happened.

No it's not! He just simply watched a apple fall and the idea, not the apple, struck him.

No. That never happened.

He was sitting in a garden when he saw an apple fall from a tree and then he thought to himself why the apple fell downwards and not up or to the sides.

yes, an apple falling down onto his head helped him discover gravity as he wondered why the apple fell down instead of travelling in a different direction.
