us airways are certainly a fast growing company and they may overtake american airlines. also american airlines haven't made any orders for larger planes. they just rely on there 777s to take them long range
DL took over PAA US-European operations as well as the Pan-Am Shuttle service between DCA/LGA/BOS. Pan Am's LHR routes were bought by UAL and its S. American routes by United. DL is now in the process of merging with Northwest Airlines.
