Having a child at such a young age makes it difficult to finish high school and go on to complete college. It is an enormous financial drain on the family, since the girl is not old enough to get a job to support the baby.

Saddest of all, the girl's childhood is over. When you have a baby you have to learn how to be a grown up, no matter how old you actually are. A lot of people will judge her harshy; others will just be horrified. The carefree days of just being a kid and having no responsibilities are over. Instead, she'll have to go straight home after school to help with the baby.

It is a life-altering event that no 13 year-old is ready for.

If she chooses to have an abortion, then she will have to deal with the emotional scars of that for the rest of her life.

All around, it is not a desirable situation.
