Not necessarily. But it does indicate 1) someone has has the "talent" to recognize sounds and associate it with letters or words 2) someone who was determined enough to learn Morse Code.

You would REALLY have to be interested in Morse Code to go through the time and effort to learn it well, and you do need to use it from time to time to keep from forgetting it. Using it will keep your skills up.

I am still working with learning Morse Code fully, and operate regularly on Ham Radio with it (2008). There are a lot of Ham Radio operators that very much enjoy the mode and find a lot of satisfaction just using Morse Code, I am one of them. Partly for the "magic" of it, mostly for the fact the "better operators" are the ones using Morse Code.

CW and Morse Code are not the same. Morse Code is the series of dots and dashes that make up the letters and numbers, etc... CW is the method by which Morse Code is sent! CW stands for Continuous Wave... When I press down on my CW key, my radio (Icom 718) will transmit a continuous wave of 700 hertz audio tone. When I let up, it stops transmitting. The sequence and timing of pressing down and letting up creates the dots and dashes, which are Morse Code!

In Ham Radio, CW is loosely used to mean Morse Code, and vice versa.

More information about sending and receiving Morse Code can be found via Google.

But the short to your answer is, no... Being able to send and receive Morse Code by ear does not indicate a high level of intelligence, but rather a high level of dedication!

Hope that helps,

Andrew

What did Morse code change?

Morse code has improved communication in a lot of ways. Here are just several of the benefits of Morse code out of a whole lot of others:In aviation pilots use radio navigation aids. They usually emit a short set of station identification letters in Morse code in order to ensure that the stations they're using is in good service. The International Morse code is a favourite with amateur radio operators, as they can quickly key a transmitter on and off (also referred to as 'continous wave' or 'CW').Morse code can be used as a signal for help (SOS).Morse code has also helped many people with disabilities to communicate.

How was Morse code used in the war?

Morse Code was used by airman flying in C-47 airplanes to pick up the north vietnamese soldiers communicating between units. While they were communicating between each other our airman were picking up their Morse code signals as well. The C-47 crew also had direction finding equipment where as we could get a good radius of the enemy and once a good radius was determined we would advise the army to determine how good a target we had picked up. They would then decide what means we would use to attack. Sometimes it would be army going after them or sometimes B52's.

Is Morse code a good speech topic if not what is a good speech topic?

Um, i am not sure if Morse code would be a good topic but it all depends on how interesting you make it. I advise you to put in some humor if you do decide to do it on Morse code. If you don't, do it on some thing you enjoy... your favorite hobby, sport, food, least favorite things... and if you can't think of one talk about speeches them self how much time you spent on trying to figure out a topic, if you like them or not, stuff like that. One year I did my speech on Emeralds and i was chosen to go to the gym, but i didn't go. I wish I did though I think that I would have done really well. Hope you figure it out. bye.
