I know that cancers aren't contagious and what not, but I've recently read up on things that (can??? can it or does it?) cause leukemia. For example, the human t cell leukemia virus. It says that can associate with leukemia, and that virus can be spread through sexual contact. So if that's the cause of it, then wouldn't that imply that I, if involved with that, could get that virus and potentially leukemia or forms of it? Or is there something im like misreading, or misunderstanding. It's all kind of confusing. So i mean, is there like a "natural" form of leukemia that's caused by unfortunate circumstances (like Breast cancer) as well as leukemia that's derived from a virus which is "contagious" in the sense that it can be transmitted?
Leukemia and lymphoma are types of cancers. Cancer is not contagious. It is a disease in which a group of cells display uncontrolled growth. Nearly all cancers are caused by abnormalities in the genetic material of the transformed cells.
No. Leukemia is a form of cancer involving the blood cell forming organs.
it is not contagious.
is leukemia infectious
It is neither contagious or hereditary.
Leukemia is not transmitted.
In cats, the Feline Leukemia virus is a highly contagious to other cats who share food bowls and litter pans. Dog Leukemia is not contagious to other dogs. Feline Leukemia is caused by a virus. In dogs, Leukemia is a cancer of the blood. Like most other types of cancer, the causes of Leukemia are not well-understood, there aren't any measures to prevent Leukemia in your dog.
no, it's not contagious.
No, mosquitoes cannot pass on leukemia. Leukemia is a type of cancer and is not a contagious disease therefore it cannot be transmitted through insects.
its through hereidity
It is no one's fault when we contract any disease. cancers like Leukemia are not contagious and can;t be transmitted between people, Leukemia is caused by some breakdown in the Stem Cells and DNA that help our bodies make blood.
Absolutely not. Leukemia is a form of blood or bone marrow cancer and is not transmitted through needles, sex or any other methods, unlike AIDS and HIV. I know because my loving husband has lived with it bravely for years.

No- leukemia is not a communicable disease in people. HOWEVER- there are a number of other diseases that ARE contagious that are common among intravenous drug users. Those include Hepatatis and HIV (AIDS), and well as more common STDs.
Feline leukemia is a very contagious viral disease of cats. It is not related to the leukemia that people get, which is a type of cancer. Instead, it is an immune disease similar to human AIDS. The cats pass it to each other by body fluid, so if they eat and drink from the same container, they can catch the disease. Feline leukemia is fatal, and has no cure.
It is not spread among humans, but it is spread throughout the body by the cells. Leukemia is cancer of the white blood cells. Like other cancers it is not contagious. White blood cells help to fight infections, so obviously a person with Leukemia is unable to fight off infection. However, if caught in time it is one of the more curable cancers.
This is not a contagious disease. The virus is contagious.
