Is marrying a cousin brother or sister sin?
Asked in History, Politics & Society
What is Hester's sin?
Hester actually has two sins, but you don't discover the other one until later in the book. Her first sin, which is very obvious is committing adultery. her second sin however, is marrying Chillingworth. she says that marrying him was a sin because she did not actually love him, and she knew that she could not be faithful to him. She repents for this sin.

What is your relationship to your mother-in-law's sister?
Your mother-in-law's sister is your spouse's aunt but is not related to you. While in Western Culture Spouse's relations are ignored to be anything to you. But in Asian Culture a Mother in Law's Sister will be as Aunt to you as she is to your spouse. It kinda make more sense to me if you see is this way that your brother is considered to brother in law to your spouse, when we say in law we tend to look it only as spousal relation, but actually in law means that after the marriage as per law he/she is your brother or sister in the eyes of law. Thus adultery with in law is not only considered sin but also incestuous.

I know drinking isn't a sin and I don't get drunk... so why do I feel so guilty?
If you are a Christian who drinks and you feel guilty perhaps God is trying to tell you something. You can offend a Christian brother or sister by your drinking and make them stumble and that my friend is a sin Romans 14:, which also tells us that if you doubt or if your conscience bothers you that you are drinking that is sin, because if you do not drink from faith: for whatever is not from faith is sin.
