It does not make a difference when in the day you take Lexapro; it is just important that you take it at the same time each day consistently. The best time of the day to take it is when you are most likely to remember to take it.
***It doesn't make a difference to how well they work, but it does make a difference to how your body reacts throughout the day depending on when you take it, and the difference also depends on each individual.
Each person reacts differently to Lexapro and therefore it is up to you to determine when it is best for you to take it. Eg: If it causes you to be drowsy take it at night. If it causes insomnia then take it in the morning.

Of course, the best suggestion is to talk to your doctor or pharmacist, and to be aware of the effects Lexapro has on you personally. ∙ 14y agoI think it's really up to each individual's body. I started out taking it in the morning. It was making me drowsy at about 7pm, so I went to taking it at night and it made me drowsy at about 2pm. So, either way, it was exhausting me. I went back to taking it in the morning and it's been fine. It took about a month to get rid of that "drowsy" feeling, but it did go away. I would rather be drowsy at 2 and be able to sleep at night. When I got drowsy at 7, I would just fall asleep and wake up all night. Good luck.

∙ 11y agoIt would depend on how your body reacts to the medication. Everyone reacts to SSRI meds differently. If it makes you drowsy, take it at night. If it gives you nightmares, as it has been known to do, you can take it in the morning. As always, check with your Doctor or Pharmacist before making any medication changes.
