technically yes, pewter is made from lots of metals such as tin, lead, copper etc
Pewter is not a ferrous metal, as it is not magnetic. It is in the same category as aluminium.
From Charlotte Leckie 7c
Pewter is mainly tin, so you could say it was stannary (of tin), but not ferrous (of iron) as there is no iron content in it at all.
Pewter is mostly tin (>85%) plus copper, antimony, and lead (mostly modern pewter leaves out the lead, for obvious reasons...)
It comes in lots of differant types of metal
Pewter is a non- feerrous metal as it does not contain iron. It istraditionally between 85 and 99 percent tin, with the remainder consisting of copper, antimony, bismuth and lead.
Aluminum is a non ferrous metal.
Non ferrous
Non ferrous (ferrous means containing Iron).
Aluminium is non ferrous.
Pewter contains no iron, hence is considered non-ferrous.
