There isn't a sequel to Return of the Jedi [Star Wars Episode 6], at least not a direct sequel. There was another trilogy produced, Episodes 7 [2015], 8 [2017] & 9 [2019]. The Force Awakens [Episode 7] does have a few links to the original trilogy, like Darth Vader's melted/burnt helmet, how Kylo Ren got it from the forest moon of Endor was never explained and Luke's missing lightsaber, presumably the one he lost on Cloud City, but other than those, the storyline which takes place decades later, has nothing to do with continuing the plot of Return of the Jedi.
