Which then redirects the signal to a NOC or Network Of Communications. They are tied into the internet through their ISP backbones that fetch your internet content. This then returns on the same path way in reverse to get back to your computer. Due to the extreme distances that the signal must travel, satellite Internet has lag times of approximately half of a second. Which means delayed reactions for Online gaming, instant Stock trading (Day Trading) or VOIP Telephone service (Vonage, etc.). How ever the download speeds often compare to standard cable or DSL connections.

∙ 12y agoSattelite internet has some problems, for example it has reception problems in bad weather or during high sunspot activity days. Sattelite internet,is, however, a good alternative for people who live in remote areas and need access to broadband internet service.
