Science is a body of knowledge. It cannot be a dangerous thing all to itself. What can be dangerous is how that knowledge is used. It all depends on the people that are using science. They can use it for safe things that are good, or for bad things that are dangerous.
If they choose to use it for bad, then the science that they are using will be dangerous to the environment. On the other hand, if we use science for good, we can save the environment from the harm that has been done to it. It all comes down to the actions of humans. The science will stay the same, the decisions of how to use it will decide whether they are dangerous, or not.
