Is sea trout another name for freshwater salmon?
I'm not sure what you mean by a freshwater salmon exactly, but the fish commonly called a sea trout is a type of perch and completely unrelated to salmon.
There are many.The piranha of tropical America,the pike family,freshwater bass,like the largemouth and smallmouth.Also the trout like brook and rainbow.The baramundi of Australia.The primitive bowfin of southern U.S. waters,and the gar.All of these fish are known for their aggressive natures,and are great fighters when hooked.
