There is no restriction on marital relations during Muharram. It is keeping the Hurmat and Respecting the days of Shahaadat (marytrdom) of Imaam Husain (as) that one should refrain from having sexual intercourse. It is all about the way you believe in the devotion to the Imaam. We find many people following this tradition of keeping themselves away from all such activities. However, Prophet Muhammad (God bless him and grant him peace) neither taught nor acknowledged nor obeyed this restriction.
