No, it is a tomb that Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built in the memory of his third wife when she died. The name of his third wife was Mumtaz Mahal. It is though, considered a jewel of Muslim art.

No. A cathedral is a large church that is the home church of a bishop. Christian, in other words.

Taj Mahal is a mausoleum (where the dead are sometimes buried) in India by the Mughal_EmpireList_of_Mughal_emperorsShah_Jahanin memory of his third wife, Mumtaz_Mahal

Interestingly, the word, "Mumtaz" in Arabic means "Excellent".

The Taj Mahal in specific does not have anything to do with Islam except that it has been built in Islamic Architecture. It is a tomb and not a religious structure. Though the compound also houses a mosque.
