the bottom head should be tighter than the top because it bounces around and if you take it off then you take away sound... so it changes it.... the top head should only be tight enough to have no wrinkles in it

well it depends on what kind of drum you are talking about. if you are talking about a snare, the bottom head shuts off all the ringing sound and adds a surface for the springs to "buzz" up against. without it it will sound like a tom.

Is drum a musical instrument with high sound?

Drums come in a verity of sizes and depths each can be tuned by adding tension to the drum head, the smaller the drum the smaller the surface area of the drum head this can have a lot of tension put in and will create a higher pitch. The Smaller tom-toms are normally called tenor tom-toms but bongos played by hand can be tuned high. The Snare drum can also have a high pitch as well but all in all it depends on how the individual drum is set up.

Yes, but it is not recommended if the drum was designed to have a bottom head as the shell might lose its shape over time.

What percussion instrument is not part of a stranded drum set of drum kit?

A wood block is kind of a drum "accessory". The Essentials of a standard drum kit are the following: Hi hat,Ride and Crash cymbals and mounted tom toms, floor tom, bass drum and snare drum. Of course with that you also need the bass drum pedal,Hi hat stand, Cymbal stands, tom holders, and etc. A wood block would be added if needed but it is not essential to a standard kit.
