Technically the Company is independent of both Military and Civil Brass. it is headquartered at an Air Force base- Langley AFB ( or Langley Field). This is in the DELMARVA ( outside Washington DC) area. It is an independent agency responsibole only to the President and in a sense all Americans, like Your FBI/ When originally conceived, the headquarters were in or supposed to be, in Chicago, which is in the Central Time Zone- as Central implies. oddly in CIA parlance (Central) in foreign field office use meant- PARIS, France!
