In The Bible, it says that the Devil was originally a god angel, created by God. However, he tried to make himself better than God and for this reason God threw him out of heaven. The Devil has limited power and tries to persuade humans to be disobedient to God in the same way that he is. For example, in the Genesis, the devil in the form of a serpent tempted Eve to eat the fruit forbidden to her by God.

The Devil is also represented in the story of Job. Job is a man who is obedient to God, but the Devil suggests to God that if Job had everything taken away from him then he would curse God. But after Job had evereything taken away he still was faithful to God.

It doesn't acctually say anything about the devil being angel who was thrown out of heaven. In Jude 15:6 -

And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling-these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.

- it mentions fallen angels but it does not say the devil is a fallen angel.

Also in 1 John 3:8 it says 'the devil has been sinning from the beginning' which suggests he was always evil and was never an angel.
