Can't be done at home unless you have a shop 'press'.Bearing has to be pressed off/on. Take steering knuckle off vehicle and take to a shop to have old bearing pressed off and new one pressed on-that'll save you some dough.

How do you do a wheel bearing front?

New front wheel bearings must be pressed onto hubs by mechanic with proper tools. Bearings are sealed units and cannot be repacked with grease. Replace worn bearings ASAP or they will damage hubs, you'll save bunches of money.ANS 2 -Most modern wheel bearings are fitted in a 'carrier' that bolts onto the knuckle. This avoids having you service the bearing, and in fact most garages use this system now. I haven't seen a mechanic press a bearing on in 10 years unless it was an old or unusual vehicle. In fact I seriously doubt that mechanics graduating now would know how to press a bearing on.

How do you know which hub bearing is bad?

I have that problem right now. What I did was ascertain through hearing and feel that it was one of the front bearings. As a general rule--you never replace just one bearing. Either the two front or the two rear. Short of actually removing each bearing, this is your only option--unless you want to pay the bucks for a crackerjack mechanic; and if you do take bearings out--you never replace with the same old bearing--always new. Bad wheel bearings usually make noise. Try to listed to where the noise comes from.

Should i Replace bearings or buy new engine?

It all depends on the bearings that you need to replace! Get some quotes! If it is bearings inside the engine, then the mechanic you go to is going to have pull the engine anyways, so if there are no other problem with your engine but some bearings then i would just have the bearing replaced, but if you have other problems due to the bearings going out, then i would replace the engine. Hope i helped
