You have to support the engine while part of the cradle is removed. Toyota Corolla is the same car; also check for information on an equivalent model/year
No, it is a Toyota engine.
No. The Sidekick is manufactured by Suzuki with a totally different engine. The Prizm is manufactured in California along side the Toyota Corolla. The Prizm is a rebadged Corolla.
I have a 99 Chevy prizm. The throttle body is located on the driver side of the car in the engine. Following the air filter housing (the black tube) you will it connected to the engine. It will have a clamp on it. You need a screwdriver to loosen the clamp. It might be a bit hard to remove.
Remove wiring harnesses, unbolt it, remove from engine. Install new alternator, apply tension using bar, bolt it, hookup wiring harnesses.
The Geo Prizm GSi alrady has a 4AGE smallport MAP sensor engine. The other model of Prizms have the 4AFE engine, which would be a downgrade in performance.

Go to http://autos.msn.com/ and put in geo/prizm... then look up the year of the prizm...1996... click on features and specs. Scroll down, and you'll find the horsepower of a 1.6 liter 1996 geo prizm. I found it to be 100 horsepower.

Remove the old mount & replace with the new.
Under the housing where the upper radiator hose hooks to the engine.

You mean Toyota? Geo Prizm, Pontiac Vibe and Lotus
The end of the engine that is bolted to the transmission is the rear. So standing at the rear of the engine the right side is on your right.
Both the 1.6L and 1.8L engines in the 93 Prizm are 4-cylinder inline engines. I'm no expert but I don't think you can get a V6 engine in the engine compartment let alone hook up the transmission, etc.
Disconnect thre neg battery cable then the starter wires. Takeout the mounting bolts and remove it.
There are a few fuse boxes located on a 1993 Geo Prizm. The main fuse boxes are located under the driver side dash on in the engine compartment.
