Is the triceratops mean or nice?
There are examples of damage to triceratops done by a t-rex attacking from in front. Examination of the damage shows that the triceratops continued to grow more bone after the conflict, so the triceratops survived the attack. This implies that a triceratops could beat a t-rex. On the other hand, there have been fossilized dung samples which show that T-rex ate triceratops. This may mean that triceratops was hunted by T-rex, but since T-rex is…
Triceratops was a quadruped, meaning that it walked on all four legs. They weren't designed for speed, but that doesn't mean they couldn't travel rapidly for short bursts, similar to elephants. Triceratops also had a special ability to quickly rotate, which was useful in defending itself against predators like Tyrannosaurus.
Some suggest that Triceratops fossils are actually the fossils of young Torosaurus. However, Triceratops were extremely common and existed before Torosaurus did. If Torosaurus were adult Triceratops, their should be fossils of Torosaurus that were as old as the oldest fossils of Triceratops. Thus, I don't think that Torosaurus was the same as Triceratops.
