Is the vent cap the one on resivore or on radiator?

i had replaced that one it is your resivor cap that year did not have a regular radiator cap its only 10.00 but yes its the resoivor cap

There is one but underneath the frame on the radiator.

well you can either open the bleeder screw on the bottom of the radiator if it has one, or you can loosen the clamp on the bottom hose of the radiator and watch out for the big gush of antifreeze coming at you, take the radiator cap of before hand as a vent. good luck.

not all vehicles have a rdiator cap. some newer ones ,have the coolant added thru the overflow bottle. if the radiator cap cannot be seen on the radiator it doesnt have one

Either the cap is defective or too much pressure is building up in the system. I would replace the cap is it does not appear to be overheating. answer you have a defective radiator cap replace with a new one with same pressure rating as old one

It doesn't have one per se. The antifreeze overflow serves as the car's radiator cap. If you need to add antifreeze, add it there.

Go to the parts store and tell them what year vehicle you have and the make and engine size and they will have the proper radiator cap for you.

misplaced radiator cap - buy a new one cross threaded radiator cap - take off and put on properly hole in radiator - drain the radiator of coolant, solder the hole closed, refill the radiator. worn-out water pump - buy and install a new or rebuilt one. hole in radiator hose - buy and install a new one.

Maybe it's not the radiator. Maybe it is one of the radiator hoses that is leaking. Or possibly the radiator cap or a level sensor.

Depends, do you have a radiator cap on the radiator or is your cooling system ran from the overflow tank? if you have a cap on the radiator then the answer is pretty obvious, open the cap and pour it in. if you don't have a cap on the radiator, then you will have to remove the upper radiator hose to pour the stop leak directly in the radiator. i wouldn't try putting the stop leak in the overflow because it may not all get into the radiator thus making it less effective and could possibly even clog the lines. i had this same question and i finally found the answer so i thought i'd come back and share with you. i have a 1996 3.1 corsica and the radiator has no cap. i was thinking you could pour it in from one of the hose outlets but wasn't sure.

It is located on top of a plastic recovery tank located by the side of the radiator. The radiator itself won't have one.

The radiator cap on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe is the clear plastic one on the recovery tank. The recovery tank is actually a pressurized part of the cooling system.

take the cap off and check this look under the cap and see if the rubber seal is broken or it looks worn but if in doubt replace it a mechanic has tool for connecting to radiator to check cap pressure. but if you think radiator cap is the problem, just buy a new one they cost under 10 bucks. if that is the problem, it is sure cheaper than going to a mechanic

One possible answer is if the radiator cap is bad. Now you have to remember that there are two seals on every rad cap. The outer one, for sealing the cap to the radiator (or pressurised overflow), and a second seal on the pressure relief valve. If either of those seals is bad, hot coolant will be able to undetectably escape the system, thus causing no signs of a leak, yet lowering the coolant level in time. Try replacing the radiator cap.
