However, there is a thriving tourist industry in the area surrounding 'Area 51'. The job qualifications for working in the surrounding area are much less stringent. Starting in Las Vegas, most hotels have tourist junkets to the area employing drivers and tour guides. Outside Las Vegas there are numerous diners, restaurants, lodges, motels, shops, gas and service stations catering to the Area 51 tourist trade.
