there are two belts, one for the accessories; alternator, power steering pump, AC..., then there is one expressly for the supercharger
In 1985 my FANS and I would exchange Belts one for one at our favorite bar. I we hade to many then definitly ended up Buicking in the old Riviera what order to replace them
There is no button for the supercharger. The supercharger is always on because it is being driven by the belts of the engine. When you step on the gas, there is a vacuum line that is hooked up to the supercharger in which will close a little valve causing the boost to be diverted into the engine.
There should be a schematic on the fan shroud for the serpentine belt I don't know about a '98 Riviera but I have a 1996 Riviera & it's in my original owners manual. Athough I do not have a engine belt diagram on the fan shroud, I do have a decal for the enviormental control system. ANSWER: There is a schematic in the owner's manual of the '98 Riviera.
autozone.com has free online manuals, i have gotten fuse box diagrams and component locations etc from them and they tell you step by step how to do it Bad answer! There is no manual available at Auto Zone. I have a '95 Buick Riviera and when my water pump went out I had to remove the belts, alternator, and most everything that was around it to replace it. Good luck!
Sure it's a Buick?
Check the belts. The most common cause of squealing is a worn or loose belt on the front of the engine.
You don't say which engine or year but see my post under "How do you change a serpentine belt on a 93 Buick Skylark" for a possible answer.
Somewhere on the engine. Just find a good point that is away from the belts.
yes. I've had my 97 riv over 4yrs and have thrown 3 serpentine belts and have went without one for 4 months before replacing it again.
It only has ONE?
The ac recharge port is the low side port. It is on the hoses on the passenger side of the engine close to the belts.
the van Allen belts are located in the universal space.
