The PCV valve on a 2004 Toyota Camry is located on the top, left side of the engine. It filters air which is circulated through the engine to remove harmful gas buildup.
When facing the engine in front of the vehicle: the PCV valve is behind and to the right of the furthest sparkplug to the right. The valve is checked by removing (disconnecting the hose, then pulling the valve straight out) and shaking it. A rattling sound means the valve is functional. If not, it may be stuck open or closed and needs replacing.
