the closest you could come would be a UV system However in my experience most people that use it still end up backing up with chemicals.

Either the to much salt was added or the sensor is out of calibration or bad.

Where is the filter intake side of a pool?

How important is it to ground wire for an above-ground pool when installing a pump and filter?

It is critical that the system be properly grounded. If none exists go to Home Depot or other supplier and install a ground rod at the site and properly bond the equipment to it. Electrocution would be bad. Answ:: THE ABOVE ANSWER IS FLAWED. The bonding wire is not a substitute for a ground wire!!! PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR EQUIPMENT NOW. Do not let anyone use the pool or touch any of the equipment - pump, motor, filter, heater etc. Call a qualified swimming pool electrician to completely bring your equipment to code before someone dies. Codes for swimming pools can be different than those for a house. k In any electrical system a "ground" is critical. Without a pre-determined path to follow, electricity will take the shortest, easiest path to complete a circuit, which is usually the unfortunate dripping wet person who has touched the wrong thing. With a correctly installed ground wire, the shortest, easiest path is down the wire.

What does the term Backwash refer to in the operation of swimming pool filters?

Back washing means that water from the system runs over the top of the sand in the sand filter to waste in order to clear it and reduce the pressure needed for the water to circulate.

Why Backwash a pool?

All swimming pools with a pump and filter should have a back wash system. You must back wash your swimming pool filter when indicated by the pressure gauge on your filter. ANSWER 2:: Cartridge filters have no means to back wash. These filters must be broken down and cleaned manually. K

When you turn off the sand filter for your in ground swimming pool the skimmer seems to be released from a vacuum causing the basket to pop and water to bubble up?

There is air in the system and it is "burping". I usec to have the problem and I hard lined it from the pump to the filter. Also use teflon tape on any threaded connections. Make them tight but dont break the plastic. Also make sure your hose clamps are tight on the skimmer and return.

What happens when you put a box of jello in a swimming pool?

You will not likely achieve your desired effect (vandalism). The filtration system will most likely filter it all out in less than 4 hours.
