Shoot the legs until it shuts down for a short amount of time. Then, you have to get on the top of it, and at the back of the scarab there is a small room with something that looks like an energy shield. Destroy the "energy shield" and get out of the scarab. Soon it will blow up.

No. As in Halo 2, the Scarab runs on a scripted movement protocol. Past a certain distance, the movement is scripted. The closer you get, the more advanced the AI gets. At a certain distance, it can attack you. However, they are indestructible. You can damage it and take down the shield, and even the core, but the scarab will not explode.

∙ 12y agoThe Scarab can be boarded, but unfortunately there is no way to assume control of the vehicle, and can only be destroyed.

Unless you use a cheating enabled device, sadly there isn't. There is a superjump point near the Scarab at the end of the level, but it isn't any less complicated to use than the Banshee trick.
