You cannot operate "mass" chart edits in Powerpoint. When you double-click a chart within Powerpoint, it opens that specific chart in the edit program, and ends that program when you return to the presentation. As a Powerpoint professional, the best advice I would give if you know you will / may have changes to a series of charts is to create one chart to your liking, then duplicate it many times. Then, if you need to change text from 18 points to 22 points, you will simply make the same change by opening each chart, changing, and closing it.
No, there is no way for you to do this during the PowerPoint show even if you use VBA Macros.
You can't create a presentation with PowerPoint Viewer, only watch them. I do understand that you see PowerPoint for a split second while loading, but I assure you there's no way to unlock it. To create a PowerPoint presentation you must have Microsoft Office installed on your computer. This software suite costs roughly $150 for a basic version. However, you can make presentations with other software that is compatible with Office. Open/LibreOffice can create, open and save PowerPoint presentations using Impress. They are free to download and use. Online Alternatives: Google Docs (requires a Google Account; also free) http://www.docs.google.com Office Web Apps (requires a Windows Live ID or XBOX LIVE ID; also free; it's usually the best option, since it is actually created by Microsoft themselves, and if you buy Office later, you can save your documents to here directly from Office.) http://www.skydrive.com
Yes, you can use files saved on Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 (but not the other way around).
