If there is a bypass pulley you'd have to go to a dealer to get it. You can remove ac compressor and get a short belt bypass it that way. Same belt routing minus the ac. I just did my 2004 Ford Taurus used a 8206k belt. was a lil hard to get on or maybe I'm a wimp.
AnswerGo to www.dormanproducts.com and look up an A/C bypass pulley for your vehicle. Then go to www.rockauto.com to buy it.I am unsure what you mean by bypass. The Air Conditioning system will not work with out the compressor. The compressor can be disabled by unplugging the electric clutch. Most of these little Fords could have a different length belt fitted so the compressor pulley didn't turn at all.
It takes an 82 inch five grove belt.
can you bypass a 2001 oldsmobile aurora ac compressor?
No you can not bypass the ac pulley but you can by a bypass pulley at the part store for about 40$. I just got one for my 2006 ford taurus the ac pump locked up and burned my belt it can take a while to put on but its worth it if you dont mind not having your ac working.
With a compressor bypass kit from a part store.
If it's a Taurus GL, you would also have to bypass the Power steering pump. Recently my A/C compressor ceased up on me. I tried bypassing the compressor but the belt ran against a hose that was near the PS pump so I had to shorten it to include only the water pump and alternator. I had to also drop the alternator ( reomoved the anchor bolt) to make the shorter belt fit. I am still driving the car but no A/C or power steering. The best thing to do would be to go to your nearest auto wreckers and get a used compressor. hope this helped.
You remove the ac compressor and install a pulley bypass kit from a part store. You remove the ac compressor and install a pulley bypass kit from a part store.
Most likely the new pulley is not in line with the rest.
yes you can, just go buy an ac bypass pulley, pull your compressor, and put pulley in its place
remove compressor put a bypass pulley in its place replace belt
YUP! Most fords including taurus', trucks, Etc. Have an after market idler pulley assembly that can mount where the compressor would bolt up. Or, crack that bad boy open........................HE HE HE!
You need a bypass pulley which replaces the a/c compressor. just had it done on my 96 monte. about $40US online.
