If you have a saved game on Pokemon diamond and you start a new one but dont save will the other one be erased?

You can start a new game, but you can't save it. You can only have 1 file, so if you start a new game you cant save it.You can save it if u delete ur old one when u turn it on there will be a legendary at the begging like palkia or dialga just push up on the d-pad and select and b button.

∙ 12y agoUnfortunately, when you start a new game in Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, you must completely erase all your previous game data. This means that all your progress and all your Pokemon are deleted from the system to start fresh. It is possible, however, to trade all of your Pokemon to another Diamod or Pearl version, and then trade them back to yours once you have started a new game. This process may be long and tedious, but it is really the only way to keep your Pokemon and start a new game.
Just note that your Pokemon would most likely not obey you until you get the badge that corresponds to their level. Also note that these Pokemon will be considered traded Pokemon - meaning they will receive more Exp. points and cannot have their nicknames changed.

∙ 12y agoThis same problem occurred with me, for a while i ignored it and carried on playing, just not turning it off and keeping it constantly on charge... until my brother needed the charger and lost it. It was then i realized that i would have to restart and lose all my progress, i should have turned it off earlier and made a new one instead of getting so far on in the game, there really is now way to keep your progress AND be able to save, its one or the other I'm afraid, I would advise you to restart before you get far in the game.

∙ 12y agoif you ONLY have Pokemon diamond, then im sorry to say you can't save your old Pokemon to the new game.
BUT if you have ANOTHER Pokemon game with ANOTHER game system, then you can trade your "old" pokeon into the other Pokemon game, then re-trade the pokemons to your "new game" Pokemon game.

∙ 12y agoI have Pokemon Diamond, and I do not think that you can start a new game, as there is only one game slot. If you want to start a completely new game, then press the button in the beginning that says, "New Game", but then all your progress will be lost.
Again, I only have Pokemon Diamond, but I think this holds true for all Pokemon games. Feel free to discuss this question in case I am wrong.

Saved files do not get erased, they are sent to the card when saved. Any progress you have made between saving and removing the battery will be erased.
