To install an aftermarket CD player in a Toyota Corolla a new wire harness is needed that corresponds with the replacement player. The old radio needs to be removed and the harness will need to connect to the cabin harness. Then the new CD player can be installed.
Take off the dash then you need to unscrew the CD player then pull out the harness from the back of the CD player, then just pull it out
Visit your local Best Buy store, they have a mounting kit that adapts an aftermarket CD player to fit the opening. They also have a wiring harness that plugs directly into the factory wiring. You will have to solder the wiring harness to the CD player, but this is the best way to go. If you follow all of the directions the install will look like a factory installation.

Other than that, if you have the harness itself hooked up to the speakers RIGHT and the CD player RIGHT, then you should have no problems and no worries.

You need to go to a car audio sound store and buy an adapter to tie the CD player into your car's harness. They cost about $20.00.
To install an aftermarket CD player the center console needs to be removed. Once removed a after market wire harness will need to be installed so the CD player can function properly. Install the CD player and connect all the wiring.
If you are simply installing a different "aftermarket" radio then all you really have to do is pull the old radio out. Purchase a "wiring harness" specifically for you vehicle. Plug that into the wiring for the radio (from your vehicle) and plug the other end into the back of the radio. You can do it by splicing and connecting all the wires but that is not worth it all things considered.
buy the adapter harness at the stereo shop and the shrowd it will make your life much easier then just match up the wires and plug it in
you need to make sure that you purchased the right harness for your year and model, (i have a 2005 impala and just did this about 3 months ago). make sure that you splice the right wires for each speaker into the harness that you bought for you car (NOT the CD Player Harness), note that the speakers and all the wires you need to splice will be the same colors as the ones that you are splicing them into. then you will need to install a dash CD player instillation kit, or a deck. afterwards, your CD player should be running right.
