Apparently there are not even any paper records for Folsom firearms. One researcher claims they were donated to a WWII paper drive.

There is no obituary archive as such. Individual newspapers will keep records of obituaries they have published.

There are no exact records, since there is no national registry of ordinary firearms. It is ESTIMATED that about 310 million firearms are privately owned in the US.

There are some indications that the very first firearms capable of projecting a projectile/bullet were invented in China. There are historical records that show that firearms were in use in Europe and the Middle East as early as the 13th Century, CE. The name(s) of the very first individual(s) to use a firearm is unknown.

Maybe. In the case of firearms, there are production records for SOME (not all) guns. Certain brands (Winchester, Marlin, Ruger, Browning) have easy to search records. Remington firearms were dated not by serial number, but by a 2 or 3 LETTER code stamped on the barrels. With some makes, there are simply no records.

As long as the other medical records. In the United States they are required to keep records for 7 years. Not sure how they are stored or destroyed in the different countries but here in Sweden the records goes into a special archive after the patient has passed away.

You can contact the Records Office of Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. The Cody Firearms Museum holds the records of 3.5 million individual Winchester firearms and many LC Smith and Marlin firearms. Information that may be in a record includes the date the gun was received into the warehouse, the configuration of the gun, and the date the gun shipped out. The company to whom the gun was sent may be available for very late Model 1873s and 1886s and most of the run of the Model 21. There are no records for the Models 42, 12, 54, or 70. There is a charge for Factory Letter information but this and any other questions should be answered by contacting the Records Office. Military records may not be on line. It depends on the country and how long ago they served, as well as whether the relevant archive has decided to make them available that way.

No laws required accounting for firearms at that time. The firm underwent a reorganization about 1886, and was acquired by Savage Firearms about 1920. Savage has likely disposed of records they felt little need for years ago. Sorry.

MOST US states do NOT have a requirement to register firearms. Those that do, the records are not open to the public.
