Universal Joints (U-Joints) can wear out.
The bolt that holds the pulley to the drive gear for wash and spin may have come loose and the pulley is free-spinning or the gear has come loose from the shaft. At worst, the gear is broken.
It is a staked joint drive shaft. It is not meant to be serviced.
just take it loose from the frount differintial push it to the back of the truck and just snatch it tawards the frount of the truck it will come out it just takes a few trys to get it but it will come out good luck

to remove carrier bearing, u will need to removbe the drive shaft from the vehicle the carrier bearing is bolted to chassis with 2 bolts . these will need to be removed and the carrier and bearing will come out with the drive shaft one drive shaft is out you can then knock old bearing and carrier off of shaft with a hammer. the old carrier is no good so doesnt matter if you trash it once you get old one off, carefully known new one onto shaft until seated,being careful to note which is front of carrier bearing you can then reinstall cariier bearing and drive shaft to truck. NOTE: now is a good time to check and replace if needed the U-Joints on the drive shaft
AnswerCheck the crank pully bolt. If it has come loose you will have a leak.The crank pully bolt does not have anything to do with the crank shaft seal leak. Thebolt is independent of the seal. To replace seal remove crank shaft pully and you will have access to crank shaft seal, pull out & replace seal.
