One of WW11 Greatest War time Leaders Winston Churchhill said to the British people in 1940 during the RAFs heroic battle against the German Luftwaffe was "Never in the field of human conflict have so many owed so much to so few". This referred to The Battle of Britain the RAF was outmanned and had very few aircraft the Germans sent hundreds of planes night after night I believe it was May thru September London was bombed continually at this time the east-end of London as well as the docklands suffered the most damage thousands of civillans were killed in these raids. Major cities as far north as Glasgow suffered during these raids in fact in the 1980s-1990s there were still areas of London thatl had not been rebuilt and the rubble was there for all to see. Winston Churchhill was one of the greatest Orator's of the 20th Century.
