Depends what you mean by "backwards". If you mean catching the ball on the opposite side of the mesh, inside out, then no, its not illegal, just stupid. If you mean checking with the butt end of your stick, then it depends how hard you swing and how obvious it is. And again how stupid you want to look.

The simple answer is a pull with the lower hand and a push with the upper hand. Although you want a smoother motion than that. Remember to look at the head of the stick you're throwing to all the way through the throw.

What kind of tape should you use to tape a lacrosse stick?

I hope you mean on a lacrosse stick. Electrical tape would not make a very good stick of any kind, lacrosse or otherwise. That said... not especially, no. Electrical tape isn't really designed for that purpose, and the adhesive on most kinds doesn't work all that well on something that's handled frequently, particularly the plastic sorts (the cloth ones might work slightly better). It's likely to peel and/or get "gummy" after a while.

What is the difference between volleyball and hockey?

No, lacrosse is not the same thing as field hockey. In field hockey you use a stick with a curved base on the ground and hit it to your team mate, or you can dribble it up the field. The goal in field hockey is much bigger than a lacrosse goal. In lacrosse you throw and catch a ball using a stick with a net and you can run with the ball in you stick. Lacrosse is a much faster paced game too. In lacrosse you wear eye protection and a mouth guard, in field hockey you wear shin guards and a mouth guard. Both sports are really fun.

Lacrosse is a game played by a team using a small rubber ball and a stick with a long handle called a crosse. It is physical sport with a fair amount of player contact so padding and defence mechanisms are always worn. Women's lacrosse is usually played at college or university institutes or alternatively there are community teams that one can join.
