When you cleaned the torch did you also put a fresh, clean battery in the torch and test the bulb to see if tht works as well
Usually a battery will leak because of overvoltage, overtemperature or a bad battery cell.
No they use dry acid if its wet then they will leak out like a car battery.
An auto battery could be leaking for a couple of reasons. The alternator could be overcharging the battery causing the leakage. Or the battery itself could have a short or other internal problem causing it to leak when charging.
One "lights" the halide torch and it burns a blue flame. While the flame is burning blue, one uses a "sniffer" tube to probe for a chloroflurocarbon leak, (older style, ozone depleating refrigerant). The sniffer tube sucks in the leak and causes the flame to turn a greenish color due to the burning of the refrigerant. Thus one has now detected a leak. There are also other methods available for detecting a leak ie. soap bubbles, dyes, and electronic leak detectors.
Anytime you run an automobile battery down you shorten the life of that battery. An acid leak in a sealed battery means the battery must be replaced. If it is leaking from a battery in a battery with filler caps just add distilled water to the full mark and wash the acid off the vehicle battery compartment.
Check that alternator is charging battery properly and change battery to see if you still getting same issues. It can also be a leak in your car radio, burnt alternator diode, or a shorted coil in the central locking system or windows.
Crack or hole in the battery case or it is being overcharged by a defective voltage regulator.
sounds like avacuum leak to me, there should be a vacuum diagram on the under side of your hood. you need to check every thing in the diagram for leaks. the best way is to use a propane torch you do this by starting the motor the take the torch and open the gas valve ( DO NOT LIGHT THE TORCH then point the torch on all the lines and components if there is a leak any where the engines idle speed will change.
Anything that carries that message contains a batterythat can explode or leak if you try to charge the battery, if you connect the battery to something else, or if you throw it into the fire.
shooting it with a gun
I dont know what you're question is...
Yes - this is very bad and you should stop using the battery immediately. Battery acid is a very strong acid and can cause severe chemical burns if not handled properly. A battery acid leak means your battery has been damaged and may abruptly stop working.
