Jesus when He says, `I am the way, and the truth, and the life', He does not mean that He possesses the truth or is speaking the truth but He means it in a much more literal "way", that He is Truth itself. And because this is true then all that comes from Him is Truth. Even the use of the word "way" alludes to the more literal meaning. In that, He is referring to the way (path) and that path is made up of Truth (Christ), and if you live and follow the Truth then you will experience Reality, whereas Truth is what makes up Reality.
